TRADITIONAL LATIN MASS

Traditional Latin Mass (2:00pm) Holy Days of Obligation

                                     & Observed Feast Day

  • Tuesday, August 15th – Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
  • Friday, September 29th – Feast of St. Michael
  • Wednesday November 1st – All Saints Day
  • Thursday, November 2nd – All Souls Day ( there will be three (3) consecutive Masses starting at 2pm)
  • Friday,  December 8th – Immaculate Conception
  • Monday,  December 25th – Christmas Day (there is no Vigil or midnight Mass in Latin)

 

This is the only approved Latin Mass in the Diocese (regardless of what other non-Catholic parishes may say)

 

  • The Homily is in English; the Epistle and Gospel are also done in Latin and English (announcements are English & Spanish)
  • A handout is given each week that has the Mass Propers translated into both English and Spanish
  • Music is Gregorian Chant, sacred polyphony, and sometimes appropriate seasonal hymns
  • The Mass, when sung, is normally 60-70 minutes
  • Ushers will be available to assist and answer questions
