Archbishop George Leo Thomas of the Archdiocese of Las Vegas
This weekend, Saturday, Sep.t 23rd and Sunday, Sept. 24th our 2nd Collection is for our annual Missionary Cooperative Appeal.
This year we are helping the Missionaries of St. Francis De Sales known worldwide as the “Fransalians”. Based out of Loganville, Georgia USA and headquartered in Rome, Italy, their congregation was founded in Annecy, France in 1837, as missionaries. Their major presence is now in Asia and Africa along with new missions in South and North America. Their main missionary charism is the evangelization in the non-evangelized countries and the education of the less privileged youth through children’s homes and orphanages. The “Fransalians” are also actively engaged in promoting and training missionaries and, in the empowerment of women and the marginalized.
